This year’s edition of L-Għanja tal-Poplu has come closer to home in terms of my work. This is because as artistic director at the Centre for Creativity at St James Cavalier, I’m involved in cooproducing the event with an eye on its longevity into the future. I am always fascinated by songs that don’t manage to make it to the list finalist for any contest. This is one of them and I must say that I am mighty pleased that Colourblind have produced a song in Maltese. I really hope that they’re willing to write and record other songs in Maltese, in spite of the fact that this particular song didn’t make through to the final selection round.

This came out a few months ago but for some reason escaped my attention before the new year. It’s good to see Dana McKeon explore new territory through new collaborations, while doing what she does best.
