Show notes for the 318th Mużika Mod Ieħor podcast featuring music by performers from or in Malta:

MuxuPour Down On Me
This song came hot on the heels of his previous release So Good, several weeks ago, and I’ve been wanting to play it ever since, of course. Muxu never fails to impress me as well as entertain me. His videos (almost) always put a smile on my face and I’m really sure that eventually he will be widely recognized for the excellent pop songwriter that he is.

DaviniaSail Away
Written in collaboration with Muxu, this is Davinia Pace’s follow-up to her duet with Muxu on the Feel Good Song from last year. I think she comes into her own much better here and her voice really shines the way it should, making this her stand out song for 2012. I like the video too and I’m sure that so will most of the MMI podcast listeners.

Cable 35Factory Floor
Here’s yet another song from the album Louder. Although not as memorable as some of the other tracks they have already released from the same collection this is still a very punchy offering. The video is nicely made and makes the song more enjoyable than it probably would be as just another song on the album.

Aces ShadeThe Story in My Mind
This band has been around since last year, mostly playing covers in bars. Now they’ve debut an original composition, which is actually scheduled for release on 3 November 2012 at Muddy Waters Pub in St Julians. I’m not sure whether there’s also going to be a proper promotional video so I’ve decided to include this one showing the band playing the song live just a little while ago.

Divine SinnersBipolar Overdrive
Charles and Frank from this Gozitan band are regular listeners (and supporters) of the MMI podcast, so it gives me great pleasure to be able to include their most recent release on this week’s show. It also give me to opportunity to include them on the list of (preliminary) nominations for the 2012 MMI Listeners’ Picks poll, which will be opened for voting in the coming weeks.
