Stormy Weather

Show notes for the 420th Mużika Mod Ieħor podcast featuring music by performers from or in Malta:

Three hip-hop tracks on this week’s podcast but I’d say there’s more than one good reason to listen if you’re not particularly a fan of this genre of music. Firstly, this track by Umannimali with Neil l-Urugan is rather good, even if somewhat pedestrian. Next track is indeed rather beautiful, even if somewhat more romantic than you’d expect from a rapper. And then there’s the video from Venemous2000 shot in Marsaskala. What else is there to say really?

Marton Saliba is one of the more prolific black metal exponents from Malta. He has now released a new album called Kruha u Kefrija, and on first listen this is the one track from it I enjoyed the most. There’s a hint of Motorhead in it, but it’s still bang on black metal…and somewhat refreshing to here this genre performed in Maltese.
