FootprintsLose Myself
I mistakenly said that there’s a video for this track from the new album called Backbench from this band. I’d played another track from the album several months ago when the release was first announced. I somehow feel that there should be a video for this song, unless one is actually already in the making. In that case you can rest assured that it will appear here when it becomes available.

The New VictoriansKeep Me in Love

Akalé WubéAnbessa
I was very pleased to learn that this French jazz fusion band will be appearing at this year’s Earth Garden Festival in Malta. They’ve appeared on a number of previous editions of the MMI podcast, and so I’m please to feature the opening track (feat. Manu Dibango) from their most recent album, which is called SOST. I’m sure that Maltese music fans who are discovering this band for the first time will also appreciate their fellow countryman Oliver Degabriele on bass.

The Cosmic Sect42
I saw this band perform live twice over the past two weeks while I was judging the Hard Rock Rising battle of the bands contest for this year. Jimmy Bartolo is an outstanding rock musician who has an uncanny knack for channeling great singing guitarist such as Hendrix, Frampton, and Prince without being too imitative. This track is taken from the band’s Rent A Starship EP, which I thoroughly enjoyed playing over and over these last few days, even though it came out earlier this year.

Manwel TIrie
Manwel Tabone continues to delight his fans worldwide with dub track after dub track. This one is a tune you can vote for on the Indaba website too. I particularly like the build up on this one and I think it’s one of the better ones that this dubmaster has produced in recent years.
