PRELIMINARY PROPOSAL
Value for final grade: 10%

An outline of what you plan to do for your final presentation/performance. What do you need from your working partner and from your fellow classmates.

Length: One double-spaced page.
ACTUAL PROPOSAL
Value for final grade: 20%

An outline of what you plan to do for your final presentation or performance. The proposal should include the following, but may include more:
a. artistic statement (describe the concept)
b. contextualize your work historically and/or theoretically
c. list your resources and skills and explain how you're presenting what you're presenting

Length: Between one and two double-spaced pages.

WRITTEN + ORAL PRESENTATION
Value for final grade: 30%

Each student will pick a critical terms/issues related to the class (a full list will be available in class about one week  after students' actual proposals are handed in) and give a 10-minute presentation about that term/issue in class. Some terms/issues will related directly to the students' final presentations. Collaborations on related terms/issues are encouraged and recommended.

Length: Between three and four double-spaced pages.

FINAL PRESENTATION/PERFORMANCE 
Value for final grade: 40%

A formal presentation/performance or presentation of a prototype, according to your actual proposal.
Full details will be given in class, and specific projects need to be discussed with Toni Sant & Martha Wilson during office hours.
ATTENDANCE POLICY

Absence on day of your own presentations will automatically result in "F" as a grade for that day's assignment.  Every student is allowed up to 2 absences during the semester, including absences for religious holidays and medical/personal emergencies. Each absence after the second will result in a lowered grade: an "A" becomes an "A-",  a "B-" becomes a "C+", etc. No exceptions.
