Coming Home


I’ve been asked to comment about the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest but I find myself at a time in my professional career where I am once again distancing myself from this annual television event.

Unlike recent years, I am not active within the Eurovision Research Network at the heart of things as they play out in Copenhagen. I haven’t even blogged about the event or made any special mention about it on my weekly Mużika Mod Ieħor podcast.

The only thing I’ve done is agreed to give some comments about “controversial” aspects of the Eurovision Song Contest to my good friend Marlene Scicluna for SBS Radio in Australia. You can listen to the conversation/interview here:

And, in case you’re wondering, I think Malta has a decent entry this year with Firelight’s Coming Home, but I’m not expecting them to do much better than last year’s entry. That’s not due to any major shortcoming from the performers but just an honest “informed” opinion, for whatever it’s worth.
